Madrid, Spain's central capital, is a city of elegant boulevards and expansive, manicured parks such as the Buen Retiro. It’s renowned for its rich repositories of European art, including the Prado Museum’s works by Goya, Velazquez and other Spanish masters. The heart of old Hapsburg Madrid is the portico-lined Plaza Mayor, and nearby is the baroque Royal Palace and Armory, displaying historic weaponry.
Salamanca, in northwestern Spain, is the capital of Salamanca province, part of the Castile and León region. With a history dating back to the Celtic era, it’s known for its ornate sandstone architecture and for the Universidad de Salamanca.
Plaza Mayor Most Spanish cities have a Plaza Mayor, but few are comparable to that of Salamanca. Surrounded by baroque buildings, the centerpiece of this public square is the city hall, with arms of restaurants, cafes, and other shops lining the side.

Madrid - Zaragoza - San Sebastian (575 km)

Guests will be picked up at the bus terminal in Madrid at 8:00am. We will then drive to Zaragoza, stopping there briefly. After this, we will continue to Basque Country until we reach San Sebastian, where we will stay the night.

This massive basilica in Zaragoza is, accroding to legend, the first church dedicated to the Virgin Mary, with the original chapel said to be built in 44 BCE. It has been rebuilt numerous times and is now baroque in style.

San Sebastian - Bilbao (101 km)

After breakfast, we will enjoy some free time in San Sebastian. Around mid-morning, we will depart for Bilbao, capital of the Vizcaya province. We will take a short panoramic tour to admire the Guggenheim Museum. We will then have the remainder of the day free to walk through the old town and sample the local cuisine.

Bilbao - Santander - Santillana del Mar - Covadonga - Oviedo (312 km)

Today, we will depart Bilbao for Santander, where we will enjoy some free time. Then, we will continue to Santillana del Mar, a medieval village and National Monument. Travelling through the splendid landscapes, we will eventually arrive in Covadonga, where we will take time to visit the local shrine. Later, we will continue to Oviedo, where we will eat dinner and check into our hotel for the night.

Covadonga, SPAIN

Covadonga is a village and one of 11 parishes in Cangas de Onis, a municipality within the province and autonomous community of Asturias, in northwestern Spain. It is situated in the Picos de Europa mountains.

Santa Cueva de Covadonga

This cave and shrine, nestled between the Picos de Europa mountain range in Northern Spain, is a Catholic holy site and sanctuary dedicated to the Virgin Mary. A beautiful waterfall flows out of the cliff directly under the shrine.

Oviedo - Lugo - La Coruna (314 km)

Today, we will depart for Lugo, where we will spend some leisure time visiting the old town. Later, we will arrive in La Coruna to take a brief panoramic tour. In the afternoon, we can take an optional excursion to the Rias Altas, traveling through quaint villages like Pontedeume, Betanzos, and more.

Pontedeume is a small coastal fishing town in the area of the city of A Coruna on the northwestern tip of Spain. For the past 40 years or so, the town has developed into a ocean-side resort community.


Betanzos is a small Spanish town outside the city of La Coruna. It still features many of its medieval buildings, like churches and palaces. There are two large festivals held here each year in August.

In the morning, we will depart La Coruna for Santiago de Compostela, an important pilgrimage center, where we will see the magnificent Plaza de Obradoiro and the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. The afternoon will be free to spend at our own leisure.

This grand cathedral northwestern Spain is supposedly the burial site of the apostle St. James, built in the Romanesque style of architecture. The exterior is covered with intricate designs of apostles and Biblical scenes.

Santiago de Compostela - Rias Bajas - Vigo (94 km)

After breakfast, we will cross the Portuguese border and arrive in Viana do Castelo, a city located between the mouth of the Mino River and Porto. We will have some free time to visit the old town. Then, we will continue to Braga for some free time before we continue to Porto, a World Heritage city. Here, wew ill enjoy a panoramic tour to admire the Cathedral, the Stock Exchange Building, St. Clara Church, and a local wine cellar, where we will be able to enjoy some delicious Port.

Viana do Castelo, PORTUGAL



Porto is the second-largest city in Portugal. This center of Portuguese urban life is more than one thousand years old and a registered UNESCO World Heritage Site. Porto also lends its name to port wine, which it first produced.

  • Passport and visas: A valid passport is required for United States citizens. Citizens of other countries require a valid passport and may require additional documents. The possession of required and valid passport and visas is the sole responsibility of the traveler. The Tour Operator assumes no liability for lack of proper documents.
  • Cancellation: Once a partial or full payment has been made, cancellations will only be accepted in writing. Cancellation terms will be applied based on the date that the written cancellation is received and based on the following dates prior to departure.
    • Cancellations received more than 14 days prior to departure - 10% of total purchase amount.
    • Cancellations received within 14 days - No refund.
    • No refund will be made for abandonment of services. No refunds will be made for transfers, city tours or any other services (including meals, accommodations or transportation) voluntarily not taken.
    • There is 6% handling fee add-on to the above penalties.
